Leander has a population of more than 30,000 today after residents of this Williamson County, Texas real estate numbered only 7,596 at the 2000 census. The area has grown tremendously since this city was established in 1882. There has been an increase in residential growth over just the last few years. Way off Broadway is a live theatre with a cast and crew that are all volunteers. They provide productions that include dramas, mysteries and comedies. A public library was opened in Leander in 2006 providing Williamson County real estate residents with a state of the art facility.
